I Joined Pinterest (God help me)

I joined Pinterest recently, and I must say...it's an engrossing, most-likely addictive, fun little time-waster.  I enjoyed pinning and re-pinning for two hours the other day, and it seemed like ten minutes.

This is probably not a good thing.

But, man, I saw how to make S'mores with Easter Peeps and how to use a rustic branch for hanging up a rolling pin.

I learned how to make reindeer heads out of mini-donuts and how to get the musty smell out of towels.

I've already made a compact cell phone/charger holder out of a spray bottle.

I'm going to make this very soon.

Is that beautiful, or what?

I'm amazed at how little I knew until I linked up with Pinterest.   There are millions of images/tutorials that are colorful and creative and so smart.  Crafts and DIY projects galore (these are my favorite.)  There are endless recipes, all of which I want to make tomorrow.   It's like a gigantic, fascinating scrapbook that covers every category from "All things beautiful" to "Zebra Pants."

I'm still learning the ropes.  I think I deleted one of my niece's boards, but I'm going to facebook her and explain I'm still learning to answer my five-month old phone, so the learning curve for me is shallow.

A category of pins I really enjoy is the statement badges, like this one.

This one yelled at me.  I saw it on a day I had skipped the gym.  I hate to exercise, but I have to, and this little punch in the gut reminded me I really do want to be healthy.  I know this.

I just forget it when I spot things like this.

Which I also found on Pinterest.

Anyhoo.  A couple hours a week I'm going to hop on the Pinterest Ferris Wheel and puzzle together my perfect kitchen and discover new ways to use lemon wedges and dryer sheets.

Join me if you'd like! (You probably have recipes/crafts/health tips I'd like to steal.)  Click on the red baseball (above, right) to see my Pinterest page.

(You can "pin" the Ballpark to one of your boards by clicking here: PIN the BALLPARK)

Let's hang out in cyberspace.  We'll be like Flat (Screen) Stanleys traveling the universe, discovering all kinds of cool stuff.  And it's free!

I'm off now to make a palm tree out of fruit salad.

Have you discovered Pinterest?

Mare, I have attempted Pinterest yet mainly for the time sucking aspect. I'm trying to read more and compute less, but it does sound like fun. I love the "stop quitting" quote! Have a great day!

Oh no, you are doomed! Naw.... I haven't succumbed yet. I'm afraid I'll never get my head out of the computer screen!!!

Wow that twisty thing IS beautiful. I just went and followed your boards, now I have to go find the twisty thing. Yum. I'm sure I would be in Pinterest heaven if someone had a gadget board about apps or something. I like looking at the crafts but there's somethings I'm just not going to do. Though I am curious about your cellphone charger holder. That's sort of gadgety.

I've been pinning for a long time now, it is addictive, especially at first. I'm a new follower on your boards :)

Let me say the fruit salad does look delicious. As for joining Pinterest - good luck - there goes your free time (smile). Also, I wanted to let you know that my blog has a new name. It is now “OMG I Am 50” or omgiam50.blogspot.com. As a current follower, I hope you will continue to visit my blog! Also, if my previous blog name is on your public blog list please update it. Thanks for being a follower of my blog. I really enjoy your blog too!

I lOVE pinterest. Welcome aboard. Don't take it all too seriously. Some of the time the stuff doesn't work or look nearly as good in real life, but it sure is fun to look and dream and learn and try.

Your post title made me chuckle! I resisted the urge to join Pinterest for a little while and then gave into its goodness. I love seeing the different scriptures and quotes shares on there as well as things for the home and recipes to try out. Blessings!

That salad tree looks yummy. I, too, have been sucked into Pinterest. Really though, it only lasted about a week or so. Now, I only go on it every once in a while--usually if I am feeling bored, wanna do something creative or eat something creative. It seemed like once I realized I'm not as crafty as most, it fizzled out. Hahha. Have fun pinning!! :)

Yes - last year, did it for about 4 months religiously and then stopped. kind of weird to just stop, huh?

I have hidden from Pinterest since the day I heard about it. I can waste an entire day on the Internet doing nothing. I can't imagine how long I could spend doing something halfway productive. I will continue to hide from it so that my children continue to get fed and the little amount of work I actually do gets accomplished!

Oh, Pinterest can be very time consuming, but I love it! Mostly for finding and saving great recipes, but I also love the statement badges, too. What is is about little bites of wisdom? I thought I would be consumed by Pinterest when I joined, but it hasn't turned out that way (thankfully). I do check it out now and then, though. See you there!

I recently joined too...and am hopelessly clueless about it all. It's like Martha Stewart is laughing at me trying to pretend to be crafty and cool from her Connecticut mansion!
